CDC issues its H1N1 Flu Update at 11 AM, Monday thru Friday at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/update.htm So far there are 5000 cases "confirmed and possible" and fewer than ten deaths reported. But many epidemiologists are suggesting the likelihood of it returning with much more severe sickness and death rates in the fall. Those who have survived a case probably now have immunity. This does not mean that parents should have "chicken-pox-like" parties for their children. But to me it suggests that each congregation would be well advised to *seek out those who may have survived* an H1N1 "swine" flu case in recent months. Why? Members and friends with immunity should be enumerated now so that perhaps later some can be enlisted to help others who are struggling to survive the illness. What do you make of the lawsuit by a teacher's estate/widower seeking damages for a school's liability in exposing her to H1N1 virus? I expect that *employers will be motivated to think more seriously about how to better protect their employees,* reducing their risk of such liability. Also what do you make of so many cases confirmed or possible in WI (613) and IL (638) a total of 1251, about a quarter of the national total? I wonder what is making such a great difference between them and their neighboring states. Bill Rev. William M. Weir, DB, MHA (health care administration)
