Congress has now returned to Washington DC, and will be taking up the
funding portion of their annual budget work.  This Congress passed the
"Green Jobs Act", a significant new policy initiative that will help ensure
that as we green our economy, the benefits of these new jobs will be
accessible to workers who could too easily be left behind.

One of the leading proponents of the Green Jobs Act is Van Jones, who was
the 2008 UUA General Assembly Ware Lecturer.  View his amazing, inspiring

Green Jobs are the center-piece of Van Jones's vision for realizing
environmental justice, addressing global climate change and economic and
racial inequities at the same time. The Green Jobs Act passed, but that is
only the first step. Now we must make sure that members of Congress keep
their promise by fully funding the bill.
