Senate Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Budget Division Hearing
Tuesday, March 31
Meet HIRE Minnesota at 6 pm in the State Capitol Rotunda
75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., St. Paul
(The hearing will begin at 6:30 pm in Room 112) 

Senate File 657, authored by Senator Ellen Anderson, will appropriate $132
million in federal stimulus dollars for home weatherization and $55 million
for other similar energy programs.  This bill will fund the weatherization
of public buildings and low and moderate income homes -- resulting in lower
energy costs for the government and low-income Minnesotans, while also
helping to reduce wasteful emissions in our environment. It will also create
jobs to do this work -- but who will get those jobs?

Please help us ensure low-income people, people of color and women have
access to the benefits created through this bill. We need your help to tell
our leaders that Senate File 657 must include language about community
outreach, training and accountability measures. 

Now is the time to make your voice heard by our elected officials. Be
prepared! Be heard!
