Hello, all. I am sending two e-mail messages-and I hope this is not a
duplicate for you-to forward Kendyl's message below. Send this to whomever is
in your circle of FUS friends, in the hope that we can generate a big
collection for Tim.

Thanks! Wendy

Subject: Update on Tim

Hi, everybody,

I just spoke with Jewel, Tim's fiancée, who said that he had a second surgery
yesterday, and is recovering well. The surgeons reported success in what they
had planned to do, but it may be early next week before we know anything more
from pathology or from the neurological results of the operation.

When I talked to him on Tuesday, before this surgery, Tim told me that he is
working with the social worker at the hospital, and they have agreed that he
will be declared a resident of Pennsylvania, and indigent. This will give him
access to various forms of state/government aid for medical services; I don't
know the details. However, it means that it will not be a good idea, in the
short run anyway, for us to put money directly into his pocket, which will only
increase his apparent assets. In order to allow people to express their
concern and wish to help, the executive committee approved a special collection
this Sunday, which will go into a designated fund to be called the intern
support fund. This will allow us to do various things on Tim's behalf that
will make life easier for him, without his being in constructive receipt of the
money himself. At some point in the future, when it is clear what the medical
bills are, and what he will or won't have to pay himself, we can help with
that. In the meantime, I suggest that we pay the coming two months of his rent
at Marian's, and when the time comes for moving expenses, I expect we could
take care of those.

Tim is still hoping that perhaps he will be able to be with us for his final
sermon at the end of May, so who knows? He is posting progress reports on his
facebook page, for anyone who is able to access that. If someone wanted to set
up a Caringbridge site for him, so that folks who are not on facebook could
follow as well, that would be a welcome offer. Feel free to send this
information along to anyone who wants to know what is happening with him. I
will keep you posted if I learn anything more.

See you Sunday,

Kendyl
