                        Dear Carol,

We are all shocked and saddened by the murder of Doctor
George Tiller, an abortion provider from Kansas. His clinic was one of only
three in the nation that would provide late term abortion services (after 21
weeks.) The first of the UU principles says that we affirm the inherent worth
and dignity of every person. Dr. Tiller provided health care with dignity and
respect. It wasn't just patients who were aided by his compassion and
perseverance, but their families, friends and communities.

"Tiller provided critical reproductive health care
services, including abortion services, to women facing some of the most
difficult medical circumstances. He was continually harassed by abortion
opponents for much of his career - his clinic was burned down, [and] he was
shot by a health center protestor," said Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood
in an e-mail sent to supporters.

It is a time to grieve, and to take action to protect
doctors, clinics and the right for women to make choices for themselves and
their families.

                        Ways to take action:

a.. Join the Minnesota Choice Coalition for a
candlelight vigil in remembrance of Dr. Tiller. this evening, Tuesday, June 2nd
from 9-9:30 p.m. in Loring Park, near downtown Minneapolis. Please bring your
own candle.
b.. Host a faith and choices discussion group at your
congregation. The Reproductive Rights Sacred Choices working group can connect
you with facilitators.
c.. Become a clinic escort, volunteer your time to
help walk people through protesters to get to the clinic.
d.. Write to your state senator and representative to
urge full funding of aid for the rising cost of health care and birth control.
e.. Write to your US senator to make sure the new
supreme court justice will support Roe v Wade and the right to privacy.

                        Respectfully and Reverently,
                        Kathleen Hollinger
                        MUUSJA Board Chair

A few details about tonight's vigil at Loring Park,
from our partner RCRC - MN:

Please join the Minnesota Choice Coalition in a
candlelight vigil for Dr. Tiller.

There will be no speaking program, no bullhorns, no
chanting and no political rhetoric. We just want to gather to silently reflect
on one man's life and contribution to the pro-choice movement, and to mourn
among other pro-choice supporters.

Please bring your own candle, and meet us in Loring
Park tonight from 9-9:30 p.m. This event is open to the public, but we do ask
that you RSVP simply so we can get an idea of how many people to expect.

RSVP to Keily at info [at] mnrcrc.org
