Get Creative for a Cause! On June 20th, 9 am - noon, you and your family are invited to Unity Unitarian to make colorful flags to carry in the LGBT Pride Parade (parade is Sunday, June 28). This art workshop will including batiking colorful ribbons and banners with short Pride slogans. We would love to have everyone at both the art workshop and the parade, but participants may also attend just one. We will have all the necessary materials along with coffee and snacks. Show up with energy, enthusiasm and creativity. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. We will not offer childcare, because your children will love this activity! We will be using dye, so wear old painting clothes. We are asking for $1 contribution to defray the cost of some of the materials. If you can bring an old iron (may get wax on it) or some newspaper, please do! On Sunday June 28, a combined group of UUs from around the Twin Cities will march together with the flags we have made in rainbow colors, along with our church banners and a wonderful batiqued dragon, made by our own parade artist, Mary Jo Nikolai. We will all be marching in the White Bear UU parade slot. Meet near Hennepin and 3rd, step-off is 11 am. Exact parade slot will be announced June 14th. E-mail Ann Hite at amh1960 [at] gmail.com for workshop and parade details. Unity Unitarian, Parish Hall, 732 Holly Ave, St. Paul 55104 Map & directions
