Dear Jo,
On Saturday, September 26th, we're hoping you will join us as we reject
the politics of fear and division and embrace what's possible when we
recognize that we're all in this together. As people of color and Native
Americans and leaders in the progressive movement, we have long watched
as our communities get left on the sidelines by business-as-usual
politics, and we have devoted our political lives to achieving a greater
voice for our communities.
But we recognize that we will not achieve equity solely by focusing on
our own individual communities. Building a Minnesota where justice lives
and breathes for all people requires a multi-racial movement in which we
unite around our shared values and our common vision for the Minnesota we
have always believed is possible.
That's why we are helping lead the reNEW Minnesota Campaign to elect a
progressive governor in 2010. On September 26th, please join us as we
bring together hundreds of progressives along with gubernatorial
candidates to make a progressive vision for our state front-and-center in
the governor's race.
