The beginnings of this utopia are already here -- and the issue will be getting more people to wean themselves from infotainment. Education is one form of consumption that improves both individuals and societies -- and not just corporate bottom lines!

Harvard is about to have a popular political science professor go public on PBS. According to Christopher Shea's description of Michael Sandel's interests and forthcoming book, this should be a great learning experience. For humanists, the concern with values and ethical issues will prove central.
