Subject: PEACE Vigil Sunday, January 10

      Peace Vigil
      Sunday, January 10, 2009 . 2-3PM . 3800 block of North 6th St.
      A Communities' New Year's Resolution
"Let us never cease to stand together... honoring Life... once more."

Though our hearts are aching for the family, friends, community and
neighbors most impacted by the 4 homicides that have already happened this year
in Minneapolis, we must stay steely in our resolve to live in a way that
demonstrates our unwavering belief in the value of each and every life, and our
commitment to working together until peace pervades our streets!

It is to that end that the PEACE Foundation and MADDADS will be holding a
prayer vigil for the first victim of violence in 2010-Dontae Johnson. Dontae, a
32-year old African American male, was said to be a dedicated, stay-at-home
father of three children-two girls, 8 and 1½, as well as a 7-year-old son. In
fact, he was shot multiple times and killed just minutes after dropping off his
son at a sleepover.

A basketball star at Edison High School and a native of North
Minneapolis, Dontae met and married his college sweetheart while attending MN
State University-Mankato. They later moved to Champlin, MN to raise their
children. His father wonders who will care for his children now.

The Vigil will be held on this Sunday, January, 10th, from 2-3:00pm where
Dontae was murdered, on the 3800 block of North 6th Street.

Be it resolved in 2010 - WE CARE!!!

      Warmly,

      Sondra Samuels
      President
