UU ECOMINDS RENEWABLE ENERGY, CONSERVATION  CAMPAIGN.  
EcoMinds is working to engage metro UUs in  achieving two  
goals: passage of a Renewable Energy Standard  (RES) in  
partnership with the United Steelworkers and  initiation  
of congregation-based campaigns to conserve  energy. FFI:

WAL-MART: THE HIGH PRICE OF LOW COST. Robert  Greenwald's  
eye-opening documentary on Wal-Mart.  95 minutes.   
Refreshments and discussion of movie and upcoming  local  
actions follow with guest organizer from the  United Food  
and Commercial Workers Union/WakeUpWalmart. The  showings  
are part of UUJEC’s national campaign to engage  UUs in  
working with community partners to hold Wal-Mart  and other big box retailers 
accountable in their local area.

pioneering work on the global issues of food,  land, and

Stewardship Project. Lappé is the author of  fifteen  
books, including her first, “Diet for a Small  Planet”  
and co-founder of two national organizations that  focus  
on food and the roots of democracy. She is the  fourth  
American to receive the Right Livelihood Award,  the  
“Alternative Nobel.”

HOME SWEET HOME AGAIN:  AN EXHIBITION OF ART AND  POETRY  
An exhibit created by nearly 75 local artists and  poets  
who have created artwork or poetry around the  issues of  
affordable housing, homelessness, or the meaning  of home.  
The Family Housing Fund is a nonprofit  organization whose  
mission is to preserve and expand affordable  housing  
for families with low and moderate incomes in the  seven  
county metropolitan area of  Minneapolis and  Saint Paul.   
The Fund sponsored "Home Sweet Home" to help  strengthen  
its public education efforts and evoke positive  social

HOMELESS CUT-A-THON  
Help the homeless by getting a hair cut at MOXIE  Hair  
Salons in St.  Paul and  Minneapolis. They will  be doing a  
sleep out in  Minneapolis and a  cut-a-thon at both their  
locations on the 19th and the 20th.

ART EXHIBIT: A LEAP OF FAITH: AT THE INTERSECTION  OF  
FAITH AND POLITICS. A national group of 22  artists from  
all faith traditions were asked: How do faith  & politics  
interact? Should they interact? How does one  affect the  
other? Artists responded with painting,  sculpture,  
books, mixed media & video. These artists  share a  
great concern about the narrowing gap between  church and  
state.
