Dear Supporters of Choice,

The ACLU just received a large grant to make it possible for people to
travel to South Dakota this weekend to work to reject the appalling abortion
ban. Please forward this appeal to as many folks as you can, and encourage
them to respond to Jana Kooren at the St. Paul offices of the ACLU. The
Campaign for Health Families will work with us to provide outlets for
speaking in congregations on Sunday if you express an interest in doing
that. The national RCRC will be sending Marjorie Signer to Sioux Falls this
week, and she is willing to speak wherever she is needed. We need your
help. Nadean Bishop

FIGHT FOR CHOICE IN SOUTH DAKOTA

Are the rights of women important to you?

Do you think that the government should make laws about what a woman can or
can't do with her body?

Well it's time to TAKE ACTION, because without your support, women's rights
can be stripped from them on November 7th!

South Dakota is the scene of a major showdown over reproductive freedom.
The legislature has passed a ban on virtually all abortions. On November
7th, South Dakotans will go to the polls and have the chance to repeal the
abortion ban that threatens women's lives.

Who knows where this will go next, some people are predicting the next step
would be the Supreme Court to try and overturn Roe v. Wade. We need to stop
it now!

When: November 3rd-5th - leaving the afternoon of the 3rd returning evening
of the 5th.

Who: Sponsored by ACLU of Minnesota, in support of the Campaign for Healthy
Families.

Where: Leaving from Twin Cities - ending in Sioux Falls (there could be a
pick up in Northfield or Mankato if there is enough interest)

What is covered: Transportation - a bus if there is enough people, otherwise
a travel stipend, lodging - a shared hotel room & some meals

What: Precinct walking & phone calling for Get Out the Vote efforts

Why: Because freedom can't protect itself.

Let's not return to the day and age where women were forced to use coat
hangers or back alleys, please join us in the fight for women's rights.

If you would like to join the group please email or call A.S.A.P. In your
email please include how many people are interested in joining us. Also
please include in the email, Name, address email, and if you would be to
drive a car if we don't get enough people for a bus. (we would then offer a
travel stipend)

Thanks~
