A pandemic flu virus will quite probably result from re-assortment of a 
bird-flu virus with a seasonal flu virus, perhaps in a person, possibly in a 
pig or other mammal.

So I think it is more important now to avoid getting the seasonal flu, 
especially when you may also be exposed to the bird-flu virus, if only from 
migratory bird droppings or handling.
