#2 Richard Heinberg Peak-Oil event update

Peak-Oil is all over the news (and even on

the US House floor--Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-MD,

March 14, 2005). Our timing for this

event couldn't be better. Please help promote

it widely! If you haven't yet, read one of Richard

Heinberg's two books: Powerdown or The Party's Over.

PR materials for this event are just about ready.

If you'd like these materials send e-mail to

joemadalyn [at] earthlink.net

The evening will include an introduction

by Rev. Kate Tucker (First Universalist),

lecture by Heinberg, followed by Q&A and

refreshments, and suggested follow-up on the

issue.

Help needed:

If you'd like to help promote the event,

contact Marcy Leussler at 612-824-3240

If you'd like to help with set up, refreshments or

staffing information/action tables, contact Bob

Friedman, at mailto:rmarcf [at] usfamily.net

#3 Time is NOW: Write letters for a

MN RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD

ME3, one of our primary partner organizations

sent out an e-mail alert last week that MN state

legislators may be able to vote soon on the

"20% by 2020" MN Renewable Energy Standard.

WRITE YOUR LEGISLATORS NOW, even if you've

written before, and urge them to support it!

http://www.me3.org has all the information you need.

This is one of the key pieces of legislation

that we UU EcoMinds and our partner, ME3, are

advocating for this session.
