This amendment will be voted on TODAY at 4pm EST. Please call Senator Coleman now (Washington DC 202-224-5641 or MN 651-645-0323) and ask him to vote for the Cantwell amendment to strike drilling from the budget reconciliation bill. Please forward this alert to all your members, friends and colleagues. We need the phones to being ringing off the hook in the Senate today. If this amendment fails and the Senate passes a bill with drilling, we will still have a chance to stop the budget reconciliation bill from passing in the House, where reports indicate that the House will not accept a budget with Arctic drilling in it. But if we can stop it in the Senate, we don't have to worry about the House - so again please call your Senator today and ask them to vote to for the Cantwell Amendment to remove drilling from the budget reconciliation bill! ============ #2 TODAY 7:00pm, Shoreview: Citizen Town Forum with legislators on the RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD 7:00-8:30pm, Wed, Nov 2 Shoreview Community Center, 4600 Victoria St. N, Shoreview Moving the Midwest toward energy independence Community forums on renewable energy This is the second of 3 community Town Forums planned for metro-suburban areas to gather citizens to talk with their legislators about the great potential of a having 20% of our electricity generated from clean renewable sources by the year 2020.
