--------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Chris Bremer <bremer101 [at] yahoo.com> I wanted to let you know that Charlie Clements, who leads the UUSC, will be speaking on SUnday, July 6 at First Universalist Church. The service is at ten o'clock; see details below. His topic is Iraq. Please share this information with those who you think may be interested. If your congregation does not hold summer services, you might ask your church office to send this information to the congregation's email list. The UUSC's new initiative on Iraq has sparked a lot of interest. I hope you can come! Chris July 6 - UUSC President Charlie Clements preaches at First Universalist. Charlie Clements is president and CEO of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, where he served as the director of human rights education in the late 1980s. His book, Witness to War, which was the basis for an Academy Award-winning documentary film, describes his journey of conscience from a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and pilot in Vietnam to public health physician and human rights activist. In 1997, as president of Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), he represented PHR at both the signing of the International Treaty Banning Landmines and the Nobel Prize ceremonies. A "talk-back" session with Charlie Clements will follow the service (11:15-12:00) in the Cummins Room, and refreshments will be served. ____________________________________________________________ Enter for Your Chance to WIN* The TotalBeauty.com Summer Spa Sweepstakes! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/JKFkuJi7UfhS9LyVUKOiuKJJYLljNkzb0QgT1ujMmLPM3yuY0zjwJg/
