FREE FILM and POTLUCK: “THE CORPORATION”
Film explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of
our time. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news, and corporate
propaganda, illuminates the corporation's grip on our lives. Taking its legal
status as a "person" to its logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation
on
the psychiatrist's couch to ask "What kind of person is it?" Provoking,
witty, sweepingly informative, "the Corporation" includes forty interviews
with
corporate insiders and critics - including Milton Friedman, Noam Chomsky,
Naomi Klein, and Michael Moore.

ACTIONS

#2 LEGISLATION ACTION: Federal Energy Bill--Call or fax legislators

US PIRG and Save the Environment are both urging
people to call or fax Dayton and Coleman in DC
and tell them to VOTE AGAINST THE ENERGY BILL
which includes large perks and subsidies for big
corporate energy companies, provisions for more
drilling in Alaska, essentially nothing for
renewables, and no conservation plan.

You may also choose to tell them to vote against
the nuclear power subsidy amendment. Senators McCain
and Lieberman may add an amendment adding $5 billion
in subsidies for a new US nuclear power plant
(the first in 30 years). UU EcoMinds has no official
stance on nuclear power.

ACTION #2

ONLINE PETITION: SUPPORT UUA PRES. SINKFORD'S
cyber-march against global warming

Rev. Sinkford has just signed on as a member
the cyber march on Global Warming. He says: "I join this cybermarch against
global warming, and encourage other Unitarian Universalists to do so,
because it is an act of faith to speak out on behalf of our earth. For
hundreds of
years, our theology has been radically incarnational-- we do not understand
the Holy to be separate from this life, on this planet, made manifest in
concrete acts of caring for one another in our mutual vulnerability. As we
sing
out praises for the beauty of the earth, we also sing out commitment to
protect that beauty."

Add your signature under Rev. Sinkford's name at _www.stopglobalwarming.org_
(http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/) . Signal to our political leaders and
the UUA Board of Trustees the depth of our concern for Earth and for the
threat
of global warming.
