JOIN A NATIONAL UU CAMPAIGN TO UNMASK WAL-MART---SIGN UP TO
HOST THE NEW WALMART MOVIE!

It's not too late. Add your UU voice to the five Twin Cities metro
congregations (and more than a 100 other UU congregations nationally) that
will host a showing of "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price!" the week of
November 13. UUs for a Just Economic Community, a close MUUSJA partner and
official film launch sponsor, is organizing UU congregations to host a
screening as part of its "Unmasking Wal-Mart and Other Big Box Retailers"
Campaign.
Check out http://www.uujec.org
and sign to host the movie at: http://www.walmartmovie.com/faith.php
UUJEC's Campaign co-chair is Betsy Allis at erallis [at] aol.com

Many are asking why the faith community should get involved in the fight
to improve Wal-Mart's business model. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Human
progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the
tireless efforts of men (and women) willing to be co-workers with God, and
without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of
social stagnation." Progress will only come when people of good will
stand and speak for those who suffer unduly from economic subterfuge,
deficient health care plans, and inconsolable environmental practices.
