CIVIC  ACADEMIES: PRECINCT CAUCUS TRAININGS  
Nonpartisan workshops to train community  members on the role and importance 
of precinct caucuses in shaping the  issues and focus of the political 
parties.  Participants will  understand how to put forth their ideas by 
learning to 
create and  introduce a resolution, learn how their party chooses candidates 
for  endorsement, as well as gain a fuller understanding of the precinct caucus 
 
process and participatory democracy.

sex abuse scandal in the Catholic church.  Gary  has been an expert

Project. Sal has over 20 years of community organizing experience and has  been

trainer of multiple organizing methodologies for 15 years. This  workshop

discuss  what racial justice is, examine different levels of racism and 
appropriate  interventions, and deepen our capacity to do a racial equity

Mark Your Calendars for a Social  Justice Gathering at General
Assembly on Wednesday, June 21, from 2-5  pm. 

You and members of your social action committee are invited to  a
gathering where we will explore best practices and resources  for
congregational advocacy, organizing, and public witness.  We  will also 
examine how to do this work in a way that is accountable to and  in partnership

CONFIRMATION OF SAMUEL ALITO TO THE US  SUPREME COURT
The UUA opposed the confirmation of Judge Alit, based on  a 2004 General 
Assembly statement on civil liberties that called us to  oppose nominees "whose 
records demonstrate insensitivity to the protection  of civil liberties." See
