NSP Announces: February 12 NSP Meeting

Hi--Just a reminder that the Network of Spritual Progresssive-MN will be
meeting this Monday, February 12, at Plymouth Church. (1900 Nicollet Avenue,
just south of downtown Minneapolis. Enter through the door under the canopy
off the parking lot in the rear of the church.) As always, the meeting
starts at 7, but a growing group of us are showing up at 6:30 for snacks and
conversation. New members are also welcome to come then for a brief
orientation before the meeting starts.

Last month we learned how to better understand the spiritual dimension of
public issues by working on topics passed out to discussion groups at
random. This month we ask, where is your energy, your passion? On Monday
we will group together by interest areas. Each group will have a chance to
explore how society's consciousness could be raised about the spiritual
dimension of the issue that you care most about. Members have already asked
to convene discussions on spiritual environmentalism, non-commercial media,
political speech and the 2008 election, health care, and of course, world
peace through generosity, which our Generosity Sunday Team is already
enthusiastically working on. Be thinking if you would like to suggest
another topic for a group discussion--which can be a process, such as
meditation, book discussion, or spiritual growth, as well as a policy issue.
Our goal is to combine our energy and connect with others who have similar
priorities and see what ideas arise. And have some fun!

I look forward to seeing you lovely souls on Monday. Bruce Peterson
