This info is being posted because some UUs have expressed interest to MUUSJA re: starting a universal health care working group (there is not a working group formed yet, but UHCAN is one larger coalition working on the issue....) **** Please help leaflet-and invite your friends to leaflet -for Universal Healthcare Action Network (UHCAN) at the upcoming opening for "Sicko", Michael Moore's brilliant cinematic case for a healthcare system based on need, rather than greed opening Friday June 29 at The Uptown. Our UHCAN one-page flyer lists action steps and UHCAN contact information. Leafleters are welcome anytime before and after showings of the film. We need to know how many are going to be helping pass out leaflets, and at which shows, so that we get as many slots filled as possible and provide everyone with enough handouts. Showtimes will be 1:00pm, 4:00pm, 7:00pm, and 9:30pm. Time changes, while possible, are very unlikely. You can check with Uptown Theater after the 25th (when the times are set in stone), to make sure . The chance to stir people to action for universal healthcare will never be as great as during Sicko's run. We really need leafleters for all shows throughout Sicko's 1-week run at the Uptown Theatre, it's 3-week run at the Lagoon Theater, and later showings at other theatres. By leafleting you will be turning fresh sympathizers into action partners in the challenging and crucial work of bringing about universal healthcare. Besides, when you leaflet with us we'll have more fun together afterwards. Please call me at 612-741-7044 (cell) or 612-377-8370 (home). Or if you'd rather email, please direct your message to Joel (joel [at] uhcan-mn.org) or Stephanie (stefalal [at] yahoo. Joel will be out of town 6/30-66. Thanks much. ****
