SUPPORT THE RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD
As people of faith, we are called to be good stewards of this earth and to
protect vulnerable communities from the harmful effects of global warming
and fossil fuel-based energy production. In the next few days, the House of
Representatives will vote on the energy bill and an amendment calling for a
renewable energy standard. This renewable energy standard (RES) would
increase the percent of electricity that is produced from renewable energy
to 20% by 2020 and is an important step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions
that contribute to global warming. Having a strong RES would increase jobs,
save consumers money on their utility bills, and help protect our home from
harmful energy sources.

This amendment needs your support. Please be a guiding light for good energy
stewardship by lifting up your voice for a renewable energy standard today!

Call your Representative's office today and let them know you support this
amendment.
